Character Name: Aaron Romulus
Gender Identity:Male
Age: 17
Species: Pureblood Werewolf
Do you already have a character here on DRH? If yes, who is it, and who gave you permission to make this one?: No
Physical Appearance: In human form, Aaron is tall and stocky with broad shoulders. He keeps his jet black hair in a ponytail and has a bit of scruffy hair on his chin. Despite only being seventeen, his hair is streaked with a bit of white. His eyes are a light blue, the color of an icy lake, but soft and docile.
In wolf form, his fur has the same black coloration as his hair which fades to gray and then white on his underbelly, face and paws. In human form, he tends to wear more relaxed clothing; Jeans, sneakers, t-shirts, tank tops, hoodies, etc. This reflects his demeanor, which is usually calm and relaxed.
Personality: Aaron is a very relaxed individual. He isn't easily provoked, and is very sure of himself as a person and as a werewolf. (He prefers the term 'Lycan') As a pureblood lycan, Aaron has complete control over his transformations, and takes his wolf form as often as possible, as it feels 'better' to him somehow. He is not aggressive, in other words, he doesn’t use his wolf to intimidate people. Instead, he tries to be friendly, in his own quiet way.
Character Background: The young lycanthrope comes from a small pureblooded family based out of Canada. His grandfather is the Alpha in the family, and Aaron's genetic vicinity to him gives him almost complete control over his wolf. The Romulus family teaches their offspring a strict set of ideals: They do not harm humans unless threatened, and they try to never kill humans.
Aaron is applying to Dragon Ryder High School, because his parents believe that it would be good for him to interact with other supernaturals besides his own family. Prior to this, he blended with the human students in the small town north of Toronto where he lived, though he had few friends, because of his need for secrecy. Contrary to his personality, he likes death metal (Though he likes other genres as well. “Mumford and Sons” being one group he enjoys), and wants to be a rhythm guitarist in a band like “Veil of Maya” or “Born of Osiris.” Music is a great love of his.
Roleplay Sample: Rain streamed steadily across the window as Aaron gazed blankly out into the black clouds. The plane shook with turbulence from the storm.
He was on his way to a place where people like him were welcome. A place where he could be himself without hiding his more 'wild' side. He was excited, though he didn't show it. He rarely showed things like that on the outside. He just smiled a small, half-lidded smile, imagining the prospects of other supernaturals being open with their abilities. He rarely had that luxury at home. Sure they would go on holiday up north where people rarely ventured, spending entire weeks in their wolf forms. A lycan could roam the pine forests for ages and never see a single human. It was freedom, and Aaron loved every trip.
He turned up the music on his MP3, drowning out the noise storm and the plane's engines. Mostly, at least. He heard far too much for his own good sometimes, he thought. And smelled... and saw. But then, that was a latent advantage of being a lycan. He faintly heard the whine of the plane's engines, even over his music, as well as the snoring of a man four rows in front of him. He could smell the packaged food that one of the other passengers ate, and alcohol on another's breath. Too many tiny whiskey bottles, he thought, smiling faintly.
He didn't feel comfortable in a small tube, surrounded by humans. Most other lycanthropes could've slaughtered every last one without breaking a sweat, but Aaron was taught better. He could control himself with little effort these days. He considered himself lucky that he could. Too few of his kind were purebloods, as his father said, and far fewer adhered to the sort of rules that he did. But it was their business how they lived their lives, the young lycan thought.
Soon, the steady rocking of the plane, coupled with his tunes put him to sleep, dreaming happy dreams of a new school and his future...
